Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the JobJunky platform, including our website, dashboard, backend systems and AI-powered tools. It explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect your personal information. By using JobJunky, you agree to the practices set out below and to our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

• Name, email address, phone number, profile photo
• Work history, education, certifications, skills
• Job preferences (role, location, salary expectations)
• Uploaded documents (e.g., CVs, cover letters)
• Responses in interview simulations or AI prompts

You choose what you enter. Certain fields are required for the service to function. We do not intentionally collect "sensitive information" (e.g., health data, political opinions). If you provide such data, it is handled in line with this policy.

b) Automatically collected data

• IP address, browser type, device details
• Session times, features used, error logs
• Document-generation counts and basic analytics

c) Trusted third-party processors

Only the minimum data necessary is shared with these providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generate AI-driven CVs, cover letters and interview material
• Match job listings to your profile and preferences
• Store and version your documents
• Monitor usage, improve performance and maintain security
• Provide customer support
• Send account notifications and optional marketing (opt-out available)

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable (e.g., EU or UK users), we rely on:

• Consent – marketing emails, AI feature activation
• Performance of a contract – delivering and maintaining your subscription
• Legitimate interests – service improvement, fraud prevention, security monitoring

(We do not currently target EU/UK users. If that changes, we will appoint an EU/UK representative and update this policy.)

4. Data Retention

• Your profile and documents are kept while your account is active
• Accounts inactive for more than 6 months may be deleted manually
• You can request deletion at any time (see Section 5). We aim to complete requests within 30 days
• Stripe transaction data may be retained indefinitely to meet legal obligations
• Encrypted backups are kept for ≥ 7 days for disaster-recovery

5. Data Access & Deletion

To access, correct or delete your data, email contact@JobJunky.net. We handle most requests within 30 days. Deletion removes your documents, profile and analytics; certain billing records may be excluded where law requires retention.

6. Data Security

• All traffic is protected by HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit
• Data is stored in secure, access-controlled cloud environments; administrator access is logged and retained ≥ 12 months
• Although our primary datastore is not encrypted at rest, it is hosted within restricted networks with robust IAM policies, regular audits and intrusion monitoring

Data-breach notification: In the unlikely event of an eligible breach, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

7. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure and key processors are located in the United States and other regions. By using JobJunky, you consent to your data being transferred and processed outside your home country under comparable security standards.

8. Your Rights

You may:

• Request a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate or out-of-date information
• Delete your account and related documents
• Withdraw consent to marketing
• Opt out of non-essential data processing

11. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

We take privacy concerns seriously. If you believe we have mishandled your data, please email contact@JobJunky.net. We will do our best to resolve the matter internally within 30 days. 12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be announced on the platform or via email. Continued use of JobJunky after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
